For this year’s Community Service Day, Windermere Woodinville will be helping the City of Woodinville with cleanup at Wilmot Gateway Park. Wilmot Gateway Park, the city’s flagship park, is busy year round. Rollerbladers, walkers, joggers, and bicyclists enjoy trekking along the Sammamish River Trail that runs through the center of the park. The park features covered picnic areas, a children’s play area and a large grassy bowl that is perfect for Frisbee or sun soaking. Wilmot Gateway Park was Woodinville’s first community park and is named for Jerry Wilmot, a founding father of the City of Woodinville. A talented athlete and community member, Wilmot succumbed to ALS disease in 1996. The park was dedicated to him in 1999.
Everyone at Windermere Woodinville is excited to volunteer for the afternoon at one of Woodinville’s favorite parks. They’ll be planting and doing general cleanup to get the park ready for the city’s Celebrate Woodinville concert series beginning in July.
You can learn more about Wilmot Gateway Park online at the City of Woodinville website.
